In 1984, Colorado State University became the first university ever to offer scholarships for first generation, low income college students. Since the creation of the award 2,187 students have received awards. Each year 55 scholarships are awarded to first-generation college students in financial need. Because of the limited amount of awards available, the selection process is competitive. The awards carries a possibility of renewal for previous winners.
You can view award eligibility, the application, or renew your award from the First Generation Award Program website.
